What can we expect when we come for lunch at The Table?

We love food so much, we would love for that to shine through when you join us for lunch. All of our produce and dishes are chosen for a reason and we collaborate with our suppliers at the start of each week to decide what to cook for you when you come for lunch. Our lunch is a leisurely affair, you are welcome to spend the whole afternoon with us and truly relax and enjoy the slow pace of farm life.

We are a really small team, which allows for the familiar, family orientated feel that we wish to offer to you.

Our restaurant is a very casual space, set up on a gorgeous lawn under oak trees next to a vineyard. We are very lucky to have birds singing around us and a lot of fresh air. Tables are spread out under the trees which we use for shade. Blankets are set up around the restaurant and are perfect for relaxing on the lawn after a generous lunch.

Are you able to cater for dietary requirements?

Our set menu is based on what is available and in season. Most dishes are served on large sharing platters in the centre of the table. We are happy to accommodate certain/most dietary requirements. It is vital that this is arranged prior to the day so that we can prepare the food accordingly (We prepare fresh food every morning based on our bookings for the day).

We will prepare an additional vegetable based dish in place of the meat dish for vegetarians as our main course sides are mostly vegetarian. We are able to order in fresh fish for Pescatarian diners. Vegan diners will also be given special consideration. Gluten intolerant guests – we will do our best to provide wheat free options where possible however cannot guarantee that every dish will be 100% wheat/gluten free as we do use products containing gluten in our kitchen.

How do I book for children?

You can either book seats for your children at the table, or, if they are likely to run around and play, we do have picnic blankets that they can use on the grass next to your table.

We are able to cater especially for children, if arranged beforehand. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 years can either be charged 50% for half portions of the set menu or you can opt for the “kiddies menu” which is charged at R180,00. This includes a kiddie friendly meal (such as crumbed free range chicken, chips and vegetables) followed by an ice cream cone.

Please be advised that this is a working farm and that you should keep an eye on children at all times.

Please note that no bicycles, scooters or balls are permitted in the restaurant garden as this does disturb other guests.

May I bring my dog to The Table?

Unfortunately, no visiting dogs are permitted on the farm at the moment.

May I bring decorations along for my table?

Please note that we do not allow flowers, confetti, balloons, etc.  at the tables.

You are, however, welcome to bring a cake along. We do not charge “cakeage”. We will bring out cake plates and forks after dessert.

What happens if it rains?

We do have three beautiful, quaint indoor seating areas. These include our whitewashed farm building and two glass dining rooms. Each space has it’s own unique charm and atmosphere and we do still keep tables as far apart as possible. The spaces are really cosy on a rainy winter’s day and lend themselves really well to warm and comforting food.
